Corporal Quorum
Wesley Stace has been making terrific records since the 80's, under both his real name, as well as his stage name, John Wesley Harding. But in June of 2018, he was part of a one-off project called Corporal Quorum, a quartet of stellar musicians and like-minded record lovers, who put together a setlist of very deep, British prog, psych and folk covers. A few live dates were played, and that was that.
Until now.
A very limited, vinyl only pressing has just been released of this wonderful band and their covers, and it can be had, if you are one of the lucky 270 people to grab one. There is no digital release, just 270 hand numbered vinyl copies.
Boy, do I love everything about this! It's a brilliant idea, and the execution could not be better. Songs by Procol Harum, Duncan Browne, Barclay James Harvest, Griffin, Strawbs and Bill Fay. And what deep prog set list would be complete without tracks by Le Orme and Boudewijn de Groot, hmmm?
As I mentioned, there is no digital release, so I took the liberty of creating a playlist of the original versions for your unzipping pleasure.
I highly recommend getting on over to THIS LINK toot sweet, to secure your copy before they are gone forever!
