New From BBJ

My friend Alan, aka BuzzBabyJesus, has been making some great music on his own for some time now. A friend recently asked him to describe himself using three musicians and BBJ replied, "Brian Eno, Paul McCartney and Captain Beefheart." I think he nailed it.

BBJ often sends me new pieces. It's rare when something doesn't hit me because I can hear the influence of that aforementioned trio of favorites most of the time. This new one, "Lead Banquet" really struck a chord. As BBJ says, "I wanted to make something driven by acoustic guitars. I was thinking of Beggars Banquet, and Led Zeppelin III for feel, but instead ended up with a jazzy instrumental that doesn't sound like anybody."
