Somebody To Love- Dwight Twilley
This was a stand alone single for Dwight Twilley, and it was his last for Arista. When his next album was released, "Scuba Divers" on EMI and my personal fave of Twilley's, they messed up this single, which was remixed and edited. It might have even be rerecorded, for all I know. This version is the original, a far superior and far more powerful version.

Fist Heart Mighty Dawn Dart- Tyrannosaurus Rex
My entry into all things Bolan, like many, was "Bang A Gong" and for years I dismissed all of those semi-acoustic records with the fairies and bells and the incense. And while "The Slider" remains one of my favorite records of all time, I now find the early Tyrannosaurus Rex records, oddly less dated than the electric, glammy, almost disco records post-"Slider." I play the early ones a helluva lot more, especially "A Beard Of Stars" which is where this track originates.

Limbo- Bryan Ferry
Bryan Ferry celebrated a birthday last week...I think. That must have been on my mind. Love the drumming on this track.

Anyhow I Love You- Steve Earle & The Dukes
This track and "Heartbroke" are my favorites from Earle's tribute to Guy Clark, which I revisited last week.

Can You Run- The Steeldrivers
I caught about an hour of Farm Aid last Saturday and was truly moved by an acoustic performance from Chris Stapleton and Tammy Rogers, so I bought the record. This is another great one from the "Reckless" album.

Please, Please- Stories
Picked up "About Us" for a buck. I've listened to the first two Stories albums over and over, and still can't decide if I like them. I want to love them because of Michael Brown, but I have a real problem with Ian Lloyd's voice. This track, though, I have no issue with. Probably the best of both albums.

Call It What You Will- Utopia
As I continue to stall on the "Buyer's Guide To Todd Rundgren's Utopia," I also continue to play the records, hoping for some motivation. This is from their 3-sided, 1982 release.

Always liked that Utopia album. Easily my favorite of theirs.

A SOTW zipped up nicely, many thanks. Apropos your Bolan comment, it was the Ride A White Swan 3 track E.P. that worked for us over here. Cheers!

Great eclectic group. I know what you mean about Ian Lloyd. Always seemed a bit of a mismatch for most of the Michael Brown material.
