Early Kiki

Kiki Dee had been recording for ten years for both the Fontana and Tamla/Motown labels before she cracked the Top 20 in England in 1973 with "Amoureuse" and then exploded in the U.S. a year later after signing to Elton John's Rocket Records with "I've Got The Music In Me," eventually acheiving a #1 smash with "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," a duet with Elton himself.

But the early U.K. singles for Fontana owed more to Phil Spector's Wall Of Sound than to the Northern Soul singles that would put her on the map.

This track here, "With A Kiss," from 1966 is one of the very best. Check it out. If you're into 60's girl groups, "With A Kiss" will be your new favorite for a little while.
