Still think their Perry Como skits were some of the funniest things they did:

My parents had a lot of Mel Torme records and this isn't far from the truth. That's why it's so funny.

#4# best show in history of tv, because of the history of tv!

Oh my, don't get me started on SCTV. Along with The Goodies, Benny Hill, and The Paul Hogan Show, it was the funniest stuff ever on TV. America makes great sitcoms, but England, Australia and Canada kicked ass on the sketch stuff.
I think this is my favorite SCTV skit (RIP John Candy), but there are so many contenders:

I wish I could convince my son that there was actually a time when TV "signed off." Like, that's it. No more. Go to bed. [Test pattern... beeeeeep] Doubt he'd believe me.

But also wondering why—given the new mega-stardom of Eugene Levy—there isn't an SCTV rediscovery?

This show ran rings around the the more known SNL. Their creativity and talent is borne out by the cast’s longevity that continues still. While the SNL cast is now looked upon as spent “seniors”, Levi and O’Hara made Schitt’s Creek the critical hit that it was.
