Clean My Wounds- Corrosion Of Conformity
This one'll wake you right the hell up! Taken from COC's absolute best, the long out of print "Deliverance," this track sounds a little less like their usual southern thrash, with a little more than a nod to Thin Lizzy.

The More That I'm Around You- Jules Shear
From the ridiculous to the sublime, some of you might be thinking, here is the great Jules Shear with Susan Cowsill and Vicki Peterson and a very joyful sound.

Dr. Zhivago's Train- Robert Palmer
This track was Robert Palmer's last official single. I had forgotten all about this track and the album it came from until I saw someone post his entire discography. Remember Nicolai Dunger? He wrote it and Palmer's brilliant vocal phrasing made me miss him even more.

He's All I Got- The Supremes
Released as the b-side to "Love Is Like An Itching In My Heart" 55 years ago, and I only just heard this song, this week. A great one!

Hey Lupe- Los Straitjackets w/Little Willie G.
The entire "Rock En Espanol" album was a consideration for a dedicated "Joy Week" post. I suggest listening to it all if this track makes you as happy as it makes me.

The Sound Of Crying- Prefab Sprout
I finally tore open the "Best Of Prefab Sprout" that I had picked up at a record shop a few months ago and this is the track that stood out.

Black Tears- Ian Hunter & The Rant Band
Tinnitus, with a little push from the pandemic has forced Mr. Hunter into retirement. But man, what a run!

For whatever reason, I never noticed that "DR. Zhivago's Train" was a cover. Robert Palmer certainly made it his own. What a wonderful track from a unique and immensely underrated talent.

Great stuff -- thanks Sal.

The Straitjacks are in heavy play here at Casa COVID these days -- I'm not sure why but I'm happy. The Jules Shear is special. And you know how much I dig today's cover from Shannon McNally.

Thanks!

Crikey! You had me at Corrosion of Conformity sounding like Thin Lizzy. And let's hope old Hunter can still make a tune or two for us along the way, but what a smashing body of work to enjoy anyway. Cheers for the zip!
