Early Zep?

From 1967, please enjoy Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera and their first single "Flames," a song that appeared in the set list of the first live performance from The New Yardbirds, aka Led Zeppelin.

I was ill-prepared for today's post, though I knew at some point I wanted to share this track and that bit about Led Zeppelin.  Forgive me for not fleshing this out a bit more, but maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Just dig the tune.

Not bad at all. I followed old Elmer himself when he ended up in the much underrated band Stretch. Thanks for the post.

Given that Jimmy nicked "Dazed And Confused" from Jake Holmes, I'm surprised this song, albeit with slight differences didn't end of The New Yardbirds first album.
