Just released on the Demon Records label from the U.K. is a killer collection of British Mod tunes from 1960's, curated by Brit DJ, Eddie Piller.
A whopping 101 tracks featuring the obvious like The High Numbers, The Kinks, The Hollies and The Zombies to the obscure like the Wards Of Court, The Frays and The Beazers. From the sublime like Timebox, The Action and Billie Davis to the ridiculous like The MeddyEVILS and Waygood Ellis.
You'll get early Marc Bolan with John's Children, early Elton John with Bluesology, early Small Faces with Jimmy Winston & His Reflections, early Ron Wood with The Birds and early Lemmy with the Rockin' Vickers with their version of a Pete Townshend track that has a very familiar melody.
The 6 LP set is a very limited edition with beautiful individual sleeves and a certificate autographed by Piller. There is also a 4 CD set and a 2 LP highlights edition, which you can find here.
Full track list is here.

If you acquire this collection, my advise is: Don’t forget to eat!
Wasn't familiar with that Townshend-penned tune. It does sound vaguely like some other song...

Looks like a great set, going to explore. Also, always dug Boxer's cover of Hey Bulldog.
On on hand, it is a fabulous collection with a number of semi-obscure tracks, But on the other, as a long-time collector of mod and freakbeat compilations, there is little or nothing on here that has not been comped already. So unless this is a sonic upgrade from what is already available, I will most likely not get this one.
