George Braith isn't one of the more popular artists who recorded for the Blue Note label. With just three records between 1963-1967, he is mostly remembered for playing multiple horns at once, and on his debut "Two Souls In One," the gimmick often gets in the way.
But he started to come into his own with the follow-up, "Soul Stream," a fantastic session that includes Grant Green on guitar. The double horn is used to great effect on the album opener, "The Man I Love." The entire record impressed me as being one that should have become a jazz classic, as it seems to perfectly combine hard bop and soul jazz, without ever sounding ordinary. As a matter of fact, I think Braith's take on the "William Tell Overture," titled "Billy Told," is pure genius.
Maybe you'll dig it.

I'd never heard of him before. Thanks!
Took me a few plays to get my ears around this, but it finally stuck! Now I am in another classic BW rabbit hole. Thanks for posting.
