I was about to say something about "Dinner At Eight", and saw that I somehow missed Sal's April 8th post. Thanks, Sal! My Bad! I regret not answering the following excellent question:

Marc, It was the only way I could get Google to translate the title without including an "8". Visually, I wanted it to be entirely in Japanese characters, yet I was unwilling to change my title to "Dinner At 8:30".
Today it should hit 9,000 views, thanks to Vapor Memory's 170K subscribers. Something I definitely never expected. My favorite comments so far have included this exchange:
"I love how Midnight To Six went for a more Shoegaze/Post Rock style whereas this is more lounge chill-out (with a little bit of Faux-Utopian mixed in as well)."
followed by: "I don't get you people who understand the name of the styles. Like wtf is faux utopian"
Answered with: "You millennials wouldn't get it, it's more Gen Z type of music, and my age is in the midst of Gen Z and millennium"
As a retired 65 year-old musician, I can't help enjoying the controversy my music has caused amongst a much younger audience. I won't lie if any of my new friends ask me how old I am, but I'm not going to advertise it either. My Bandcamp page offers few, if any clues.
"Midnight To Six", mentioned above, is ambient music, but probably not for airports, and has about 6,900 views so far.
I compose and record my music, audience or not, for my own satisfaction. I share it with a handful of friends. Finding room under the Vaporwave tent has been truly inspiring. More on that later. Right now I'm just going to hit "publish", and get to work on this Weekend's Mix.
Don't worry, Sal will be back.

Excellent! A lot of variety in the sounds... on the first track I hear... Eno meets Gregorian Chant?! Yeah! Good stuff. I wouldn't have predicted this is the type of music you'd make based on other posts.

Yeah, "Dinner at 8" definitely sounds better than "Dinner at 8:30". I would write it this way: 八時の夕食. The character半 (literally "half") is what turns 8:00 (八時) into 8:30 (八時半）
But as you discovered, Japanese people nowadays mostly use Arabic numerals for time and dates. The one place you're likely to see numbers still written with characters is at a high-end Japanese restaurant, where the prices on the menu are written in kanji.

Thanks, Marc. I wondered if anyone would ever catch it. I've copied your version for further updates. If you're eating in a high-end Japanese restaurant, you probably shouldn't be looking at the prices too carefully, anyway.
