Try Love- Horace Andy
The Globe- Big Audio Dynamite II
Public Animal #9- Alice Cooper
Caribou- Pixies
All Mine- Fanny
Sweet Black Angel- Rolling Stones
Slipping Away- Rolling Stones
Try Again- Horace Andy
There is a lot to love on Horace Andy's brand new record, including this very infectious track.
The Globe- Big Audio Dynamite II
"The Globe" was a very popular CD in my retail days. In fact, it was played so often in the shop, I began to hate it. It's been years now, so I am over that. I'm about through reading Viv Albertine's memoir of her life in The Slits and beyond, including her relationship with Mick Jones, and that is how this track came to mind.
Public Animal #9- Alice Cooper
When was the last time you listened to "School's Out?" Don't take this album for granted. It's pretty damn smart.
Caribou- Pixies
The mind works in mysterious ways, and while thinking about the shop and B.A.D., I thought about the Pixies and "Surfer Rosa" and my co-worker, the late, great Sean Giblin who played this CD on 11 and sang along to "Caribou" on 12!
All Mine- Fanny
Picked up a trio of Fanny albums at that Asbury Park record show two weeks ago. This one is from "Mother's Pride," the one produced by Todd Rundgren. It sounds like it could fit on "Runt" or "Ballad Of." Todd even sings some backing vocals on it.
Sweet Black Angel- Rolling Stones
"Exile On Main Street" turned 50 on May 26th, so I had to play it. I still think it is one of the greatest albums of all time and without question one of the Stones best, even if that statement has cost me a few friends over the years.
Slipping Away- Rolling Stones
Who says I can't have two songs by the same artist on a SOTW mix? I love this track. It is a lovely way to go out.

Thanks for this!
I've never understood the hate for Exile. Loved from when it was first released, and still one of my go to albums today.
I have never, ever gotten tired of the LITD-MOL run by the original Alice Cooper group, as AC was my first music love and, yes, those are all smart albums (especially the holy trinity of Love It, Killer and School's). Still have my School's Out with the desk-cut cover and paper panties insert around the album that was shortly banned.

PS I literally don't understand any hate for Exile, as I thought the critical consensus was that that was the Stones' best! Admittedly, I've not kept up with critic lists for a couple-few decades, so I'm guessing it's been reappraised downward. It was never my fave, as I favored the previous 3 studio releases, but it does contain two o' my Stones' faves in Sweet Virginia and Happy.
People hate Exile? That's bizarre. You can easily name another Stones album you prefer without me getting agitated, but that's assuming we both agree Exile is one of their greats. They're just being contrary. Said the guy who is not a huge Stones fan and yet lists [checks notes] FIVE of their albums as earning a perfect four out of four stars on his own personal list:
Beggars Banquet
Let It Bleed
Sticky Fingers
Exile On Main Street
Some Girls
(with Aftermath getting *** 1/2 and no I haven't listened to the new live album yet).
I mean, surely those six are right at the top for any sane person, in whatever order and with whatever other album I'm stupidly underestimating in the mix as well.
Oh stubborn Stones fans are the worst! Except for stubborn Beatles fans. And stubborn Led Zep fans. And stubborn....
I do recall Rolling Stone publishing two reviews of Exile upon its release: one praising it as one of the best rock albums ever, and the other panning it as garbage.
