Vitamin- Kraftwerk
My buddy and I will be taking a road trip in a couple of weeks. We'll buy some records, eat some food and finish the night seeing Kraftwerk perform. The setlist from the tour looks phenomenal. This track, though, is not on it.
Tell Me Your Dreams- Jill Sobule
Last week I shared a Fanny track produced by Todd Rundgren. This week we have another Todd production, from Jill Sobule's debut.
Things- Dean Martin
From my favorite Dean Martin album, Dean "Tex" Martin- "Country Style," here is the Bobby Darin tune, one that my grandfather and I loved to sing together.
Her Red Fishnets- The Iguanas
Still got some of that New Orleans trip hanging around in my body, so here are the Iguanas to help me and hopefully entertain you.
Feet Start Walking- Doris Duke
Doris Duke's "I'm A Loser" is considered a lost soul classic. Produced by Swamp Dogg, aka Jerry Williams, it recently got reissued in a limited run. It's all that and more. This one is a fave.
Settle For Love- Joe Ely
Picked up two small collections last week and both had a number of Joe Ely records. From "Dig The Night," here is one that was occasionally covered by Bruce Springsteen.
Saturday Sun- Nick Drake
A lovely way to go out.

saw Krafwerk on kickoff show. unbelievable. one of the coolest events I ever have witnessed.
Another reason yours is just about the best blog out there - a mix of curated (and occasionally kinda random, which also works) songs, good conversation about music, great mix. Thanks for all you do Sal!
Settle For Love spurred me to listen to Joe Ely today.
Nick Drake was great as well. Nice mix, thanks!

Settle for Love!!!!
Always love that Joe Ely!
So I thought The Tubes' version of "This Town" was excellent and decided to bait a client who is a hardcore Sinatra fan (he's regaled us with many tales of attending concerts in LA when he had a place in Tahoe as well as the time he wangled a seat around a dinner table with Barbara Sinatra) by sending him a copy. Expected him to get his knickers in a twist over it - but, blow me, if he didn't agree and gave it his seal of approval. Oh well. Cheers!
