The Boys, if you didn't already know, were a punk band from England, that failed to do anything of note in their hometown, but had a strong following in Norway, home country of member Casino Steel. Their early singles "Brickfield Nights," "First Time" and "I Don't Care" are punk classics. But after three records failed to chart, Steel left and The Boys shifted gears towards a more melodic, almost skinny tie/power pop sound.
"Only Boys" came out in 1980 and it's a blast from head to tail, sounding like a slightly less ragtag version of The Heartbreakers crossed with early Beatles and even a bit of girl group in some arrangements.
I somehow missed this Record Store Day release, as it was a British only reissue, but I did get my hands on a copy this week and boy, am I a happy camper.

First heard The Boys on Peelie's (the late John Peel) show on BBC Radio 1. Brickfield Nights was the tune and, although perhaps not as acerbic or acidic as some of the other punk bands, it got me interested enough to buy the LP. Thanks for the tracks from Only Boys. Cheers!
Sal- The youtube page you had was incorrectly labeled Night Flight. I played it for a couple of minutes wondering when it would kick in to the tune I expected, and then read the comments and it has apparently been mislabeled for a long time without being corrected.
