Getting Uptown (To Get Down)- United 8
What can I tell you about United 8? Absolutely nothing. But this one off from 1972 really cooks.
Brand New Second Hand- Peter Tosh
There is an earlier version of this track that predates "Legalize It" by about ten years. I prefer the 60's version, but I couldn't find it on YouTube. This version will do just fine.
Shaggy Dog- Mickey Lee Lane
Midway through last week's NRBQ set, guitarist Scott Ligon got behind the drums and drummer John Perrin picked up the guitar and they scorched their way through this Mickey Lee Lane classic.
Just Say You're Sorry- The Black Crowes
This one wasn't good enough for the BC's "Three Snakes & One Charm" album, so it showed up as a b-side. I can think of five songs off that record that I'd replace with this track.
I've Got Too Much To Lose- Johnny Adams
From the south side of soul street, both figuratively and literally, as it can be found on the album "South Side Of Soul Street."
Ida Lupino- Steve Kuhn Trio
"Three Waves" is a favorite of mine, as it is not your standard piano trio record. This opening track is a good example of what makes it strangely beautiful.
Thanks (Again)- Stanton Moore Trio
We opened funky and we'll close funky. (This is) the Stanton Moore Trio and a track from (what I think is) their best, "Emphasis (On Parenthesis.)" Enjoy (those) drums!

I love 3 Snakes by the Black Crowes with the exception of one song; Nebakanezer. It is an immediate upgrade by getting rid of that song and replacing it with Just Say You're Sorry.
It's a great album, but I can def lose "Nebakanezer," "Halfway To Everywhere," and "Bring On Bring On."
Great comp (as usual)! Agree re Moore's lps and that SSS lp of Adams' material is such a huge sonic upgrade!
Nice! I remember you recommending Stanton's LP "Conversations" which I got based on that and still play a lot. I need to catch up on his more recent music!
