Tough Lover- Etta James
Leavin'- Nick Curran & The Nitelifes
FBI (I Spy For The)- The Untouchables
Six Feet Under- Jon Auer
Don't Stop Now- Crowded House
I Wrote A Simple Song- Billy Preston
Back To Broke- All That
Tough Lover- Etta James
I've loved this song since I first heard it open up Nick Curran's "Reform School Girl" LP. I only found out last week that it was a cover of an Etta James song.
Leavin'- Nick Curran & The Nitelifes
And speaking of Nick Curran...
FBI (I Spy For The)- The Untouchables
I found an old iPod in a drawer that needed a good charge. Once it was up and running, I found a number of songs I hadn't heard in ages, including this gem from The Untouchables.
Six Feet Under- Jon Auer
Since The Posies have gone on indefinite hiatus or temporary cancellation, depending on your POV, I think it is time for a new Jon Auer solo album. Until that day, here's a beauty from his last solo album, "Songs From The Year Of Our Demise."
Don't Stop Now- Crowded House
"Time On Earth" is a much better record than I thought, and certainly a lot more melodic than "Intriguer." This was the first single...I think.
I Wrote A Simple Song- Billy Preston
I've been thinking about this song since I posted that Billy quote about Aretha last week.
Back To Broke- All That
On the back cover of All That's second album, "The Whomp Boom Bam," there is an Alex Chilton quote.
"I'm not too fond of funk, I'm not into brass bands and I don't like rap, but I love this band." Well, I do love funk and I do love brass bands, and I don't mind these guys rapping occasionally. All That's "Eponymous Debut" recently got a limited vinyl release through Tipitina's Record Club and it is one of my very favorite records out of New Orleans. Here's a taste.

Nice mix. That All That song is so good.
Jon Auer - Six Feet Under is a beauty but I was a little underwhelmed with the rest of the album.
Great mix, half of I was not familiar with.
Thanks!
Randy

Got my copy through you as a freebie. Play it quite often. Thank you.
