Cindy Lou- Gene Terry
The first time I heard this was on a C.C. Adcock record. I loved it immediately. C.C. does another Gene Terry song I love called "Teardrops," which is on a Lil' Band O' Gold album. I finally tracked down the original Gene Terry 45 of "Cindy Lou" and was thrilled to find "Teardrops" on the b-side.

Annie's Lover- Taj Mahal
One of many performances by the one and only Taj Mahal that could only be Taj Mahal.

Flat Top Joint- Los Lobos
This always puts me in a good mood. Doesn't matter if it's The Blasters or Los Lobos' fine cover.

Poison Pushy- Stanton Moore
I wrote about this record last week. This is a Stanton groove to die for.

Old Flame- Thin Lizzy
Thin Lizzy came up in conversation twice this week. One friend asked me for my three favorite Lizzy albums. I gave him six. Another friend was surprised to find out Ian McLagan played piano on Lizzy's cover of Bob Seger's "Rosalie." So it's only natural that I felt like hearing "Old Flame." (What can I tell you?)

On The Beach- U Roy
2:40 of pure happiness.

The Love We Have- Kid Creole & The Coconuts
I miss those $2 Monday nights with Kid Creole at The Ritz. This is from "Wise Guy" aka "Tropical Gangsters." I think it's their best. It might as well be a "Greatest Hits" record.

Love that Thin Lizzy song! Yesterday I was at various stores for Record Store Day and one had a DJ playing mostly dance music, but he worked in "Boys Are Back In Town" and it was perfect. (Although both "Old Flame" and "Rosalie" are better songs IMHO.)

I’d forgotten how much I loved that Thin Lizzy song.
