This Is Massive- Split Enz
I saw Crowded House open with this at least three or four times before I found out it was on a Split Enz album. It also took forever to find that Split Enz album, "See Ya 'Round," which might as well be the first Crowded House album.
Jackie, Dressed In Cobras- New Pornographers
The N.P.'s have a new album. Here's an old favorite.
It's You- The Millennium
The Millennium's "Begin" is a true pop masterpiece and if you don't know it, it's time.
Tits- Sparks
A little over (or under?) a month away from the new Sparks records. I know those who can't wait and many who can. Here's a gem from 1974.
Love Untold- Paul Westerberg
Westerberg shot his load on "14 Songs," one of the best debut solo albums of the last 30 years. Nothing after comes close, though the follow-up "Eventually" tried. Here's one I dig from that second album.
Glad And Sorry- Faces
Widely considered their weakest...even Rod thinks so...I think "Ooh La La" is the Faces best and I never tire of it.
Tried So Hard- Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers
This is another album I find myself playing three or four times a year. If you don't know it, it's time. Actually, The Millennium "Begin" and "Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers" is a great double-bill. Get on it.

Nah, the Faces weakest was the live album they released that appears to have been pulled by the label not long thereafter. Which was odd, because they really did have a great live show (so long as they were not on the verge of being passed our drunk).
"Ooh La La" IS the Faces best. It's a masterpiece of a song
I also discovered This Is Massive through Crowded House live shows, probably first on the MTV broadcast of an outdoor show at the Daytona Beach bandshell. Pretty sure it's one of the rare Paul Hester compositions. Agreed about See Ya Round almost being a Crowded House album - only missing Nick and that distinctive Mitchell Froom production. They even carried (and improved) I Walk Away to the actual debut
Nice - a lot of songs here I've never heard. Diggin' in!
Tried So Hard is such a great song. The Burritos did a nice version of it too, and so did Fairport Convention, in a BBC recording.

Echoing the love for Ooh La La. A couple of weeks ago I had a mini-Faces festival and ended up listening to Ooh La La twice. The band plays great on it throughout, and it has a strong Ronnie Lane influence. Always a treat.

I love Glad & Sorry by the Faces
