XTC-ish

In case you missed it, Andy Partridge has a new single under the moniker The Clubmen 3. This trio also features Jen Olive and Stu Rowe and dates back to 2008. A four track E.P. is due on June 30th. They began working in 2008 and decided to finish up the tracks during lockdown. The first track, "Aviatrix" is pretty damn great, I think, sounding like a lost "English Settlement" track.

Was never the biggest XTC band, but I like that one. Many thanks for the heads up, Sal.

What a great way to start a Wednesday (or any day for that matter). Thanks so much.

Nice! It has a bit of Love on a Farmboy's Wages in the guitar part, but then goes somewhere else entirely. More fun than Andy's "failed songwriting career" songs.

Andy is all over this one. Hope he's all over the other cuts on the E.P. as well. A breath of fresh air.

Such a wonderful surprise. Now, only if Karl Wallinger can get well enough to release his latest...

Really nice track.

Andy is a frustrating character for us fans - he releases stuff with other folks under numerous monikers... I just wish he would release a solo effort under "Andy Partridge" with what would be, no doubt, superb songs.

Great track! Looking forward to the EP in June. Almost anything new from Andy is welcome, including his two EPS a year or so ago. By the way, Colin Moulding and Terry Chambers put out a n EP a couple of years ago, and a fantastic Live album they recorded in Swindon!! Worth searching out.
