Happy Boxing Day

I wrote a joke.

How do you make friends and family disappear?

Ask them to listen to your new record or read something you wrote.

You speak the truth, my faithful Indian companion.

That's a good one - but how 'bout 'talking politics'???

Politics isn't personal. It could be, but that doesn't sting like the complete disinterest in one's own creation.

"I dunno maybe pull out a photo-album"

This is a year-round phenomenon, not just a holiday tradition.

Hahahahaha. My family has never read anything I wrote. Mind you, I've never asked. Why set oneself up for disappointment? I'm not a masochist! Happy Boxing Day! Be kind to your servants!

You saying the BW readers aren't friends or family? Cuz folks are constantly clamoring for your funny and often-poignant stories (soon to appear in the book).

Yes, of course BW readers are friends/family.
And I appreciate the support of those who show support.
And thanks, C In California, for "constant clamoring."
Better check my notes!

C in California is right! You'll have to change the joke to "Wanna make friends on BW disappear? Ask them to read something about jazz or reggae." :)

P.S. The new Chet Baker reissue "Blue Room: The 1979 Vara Studio Sessions in Holland" is top notch for those who have gone down the Baker rabbit hole! Strictly for fanatics, though. Newcomers start w Let's Get Lost: The Best of Chet Baker Plays and Sings.

I usually avoid even telling family if I wrote anything that gets published. That way I'm not worried about offending them (or me).
Keep the writings coming, Sal. Happy Holidays!

Ahhhh, I get it... you're related to BuzzBabyJesus and you wanted him to read something about Todd Rundgren? That's a non-starter :)
