Hammer (Shajahshoka Dub Plate)- Peter Tosh
Why Don't You Believe Me- O.V. Wright
Never Gonna Give You Up- Lyn Collins
One More Spoonful Of Beans- Mod Cons
The Man With No Eyes- Michael Monroe
Accidentally Like A Martyr- Warren Zevon
King's Lead Hat- Brian Eno
Hammer (Shajahshoka Dub Plate)- Peter Tosh
This is a bonus track on the deluxe CD version of Tosh's best, "Equal Rights," and maybe you'll love it as much as I do, though there is probably more of a chance of a Kinks reunion.
Why Don't You Believe Me- O.V. Wright
This early 50's pop hit was made popular by many, including doo-woppers The Dupress and Joni James. I love O.V.'s Memphis spin.
Never Gonna Give You Up- Lyn Collins
One of many records picked up in that collection last week, this track from Lyn's "Think" album stood out.
(You should check out the Discogs link and grab some of that loot! Though, this Lyn record already sold.)
One More Spoonful Of Beans- Mod Cons
This is a new project from my old pal, the great Charlie Hunter that I am loving. Here's the blurb from the label's website:
"Finally, here’s that BIG BEAT sound you’ve been waiting for and it
couldn’t have come at a better time. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Mod
Cons! A trio of veteran musical heavyweights that is sure to become
your favorite new band. Hybrid “Big Six” guitar virtuoso, Charlie
Hunter, Memphis fatback drummer, George Sluppick and Canadian reed
master, Petr Cancura play in the same time-honored tradition of artists
like Lee Allen, Fats Domino and the great Bobby Blue Bland."
DIG IT! (That's my addition.)
The Man With No Eyes- Michael Monroe
Michael, Little Steven, Ian Hunter and a big, rocking, hairband classic!
Accidentally Like A Martyr- Warren Zevon
A real beauty from Mr. Z.
King's Lead Hat- Brian Eno
The title, an anagram of Talking Heads, closes out Side One of "Before & After Science," and it closes out this week's mix. Turn it up!

Really, really dug the Mod Cons - might have to spring for the vinyl on that!
Never knew about that Eno anagram title - very cool. Also, really dug the Enophiles vids you posted the other day - sure like to see them, though I doubt Missouri is on their tour schedule.
The Tosh track - yeah, baby!

Man ... Warren Zevon could write / sing a song!
Peter Tosh, O.V. Wright, Charlie Hunter, Zevon, Eno are all fabulous. Wish I had been able to see most of them play live - only saw Charlie Hunter out of that bunch.
Did you see that Terry Adams' Terrible has been remastered with four bonus tracks?
- Paul in DK
Looks might fine, mighty fine! I like how you are keeping reggae in the mix here and there, no doubt partly driven by your epic trip last year ... and cause reggae is cool!
Thanks and have a great Sunday Sal and all wood-burners.
Brilliant start to the New Year
do you have a top 20 or something for last year
keep laughing its infectious

Love the Peter Tosh track. I never knew that the title "King's Lead Hat" had a secret meaning. Any backstory as to why?
"King's Lead Hat" was one of my son's favorite songs, 20-some-odd years ago, when he was four years old. You have to love a child's random musical fixation and good taste...

Other than Eno producing the Talking Heads at the time, I don't know of any other backstory.
