The first time I saw Music For Enophiles was also the last show I attended before the world shut down in 2020. Last night was the first time Music For Enophiles returned to the Bowery Electric stage since that last show, almost four years ago to the date. My mind was blown then and it was blown again last night.
Brian Eno’s first four vocal albums were just as important to me as any Beatles record or any record by The Who, and to see these incredible musicians bring these songs to life, something that Brian Eno himself never did, is a musical miracle.
The clips here are brief due to blogger time restrictions for videos not on YouTube, but they should be enough to give you an idea of just what these guys can do. If you are a fan of "Here Come The Warm Jets," "Taking Tiger Mountain," "Another Green World," and "Before & After Science," imagine hearing this set list live and up close by eight absolutely brilliant musicians.

I'm still reeling after a good night's sleep and I am feeling an Eno music marathon today.

Oh I really really really would have enjoyed this. The new Brian Eno doc at Sundance (it plays differently every time it's screened thanks to a random generator that mixes in new segments and removes old ones and in varied order with thousand+ permutations!) also looks cool.
This band MUST be experienced LIVE! I also attended the same 2 shows Sal mentions and they had the exact same effect on me too! Before and After Covid…
I had no idea such a thing existed!
I discovered Eno's First Four in 1990, and immediately dubbed them in alphabetical order onto two 90-minute Maxells for the car, with excerpts from Music For Airports to fill up the extra space at the end of each. A great way to kill a three-hour car ride.
Brian Eno and Paul McCartney have long been my heroes.
Only recently did I make the connection that the first song on his second album "Burning Airlines Give You So Much More" followed "Here Come The Warm Jets".
BTW I'm a fan of Bang On A Can's "Music For Airports".
