Sometimes, social media isn't just a load of crap.
Like yesterday, when someone posted this 1999 video of Paul McCartney demonstrating to Michael Parkinson how he wrote a song with just two fingers. That song is "When The Wind Is Blowing," dating back to "Ram," and found commercially as a bonus track on the Wings "Wild Life" deluxe set. As much as I love "Wild Life," I guess I didn't play the bonus tracks more than once to remember this one.
"When The Wind Is Blowing" is unfinished, yet it feels like more than just a demo.
I think it's quite lovely.

Very lovely, indeed. And quite a whistler, that lad.
That's why Macca is my hero.
Delightful. His scraps would be highlights for most anyone else.
Oh and I hate to see it, but according to Wikipedia "When The Wind Is Blowing" is by Paul and Linda McCartney. Picasso did NOT get a co-writing credit! For shame.
Loved the story. It's amazing where inspiration comes from.
Paul is just so gifted and we are so lucky to have him in our lifetime. Very sweet remembrance. Thanks for the share.
