We're expecting 5-8 inches in less than four hours here in The Big Crapple, and it's a wet mix. It's what they call "heart attack snow," so my anxiety level is high as a chihuahua.
Have I mentioned I hate snow, shoveling snow, snow cones, snow jobs, snow days and anything at all to do with cold weather and winter?
Pray for me.
But first, enjoy Tom Monroe.

Stay calm By-Tor, we had three inches yesterday and it will all be gone today with highs in the 50's
Spring training is only a couple of weeks away!

"Stay calm By-Tor"
Hahahaha!
Laissez les bons temps rouler, Professor.
Seems like a perfect opportunity to stay inside and listen to New Orleans records all day.
If I weren't sitting in an office in a skyscraper in downtown Chicago (where its cold, but no snow), I'd be home listening to Fats Domino.
Stay Festive, Sal.
Thanks to Rick and Second City for the Brilliant medley (with a wink from Andrea!) to kick off our 1st Snow Day ‘24!!!
And thanks to you too, Sal. Go Slow! And relax later with “A little toddy for the body” as Sinatra says…
I need that purple jumpsuit!
Be careful when shoveling. It's not a race! ;)
I sympathize. But I’m enjoying the weather as it gives me my first excuse to wear a very expensive pair of snow boots in three years.
Just a dusting of snow here in DC but cold and gray and generally poopy.
But! This is helping me through the slog:
Neil Young/Crazy Horse, just announced, in Bristow, Va on May 11.
Then - Todd Rundgren - May 14, Warner Theater. (Calling it the Me/We tour...anybody heard any details?)
Good luck, Sal. At a certain point, it's ok to farm out the shoveling.
My young neighbor, who in the 2 years he and his wife and now new born baby has lived next door to me, has never so much as said hello even when I say "Good Morning," shoveled my entire driveway, along with his and our neighbor to his right. I thanked him profusely and he said, "I have a little kid. I don't want anyone to get hurt." Then he disappeared into his house. Strange, these kids. But hey, I'm grateful.
As for Todd's tour, here's what I know:
large-ish band, keys and horns. Hits, deep cuts and covers. He is playing a few shows in Australia in a few weeks with members of You Am I and Davey Lane is forcing him to learn some truly deep cuts like "Long Flowing Robe," "Bleeding," The Night The Carousel Burned Down," "Lucky Guy."
Sounds good to me!
That's awesome about your young neighbor! Life doesn't always suck! Stay warm
I was dreading the snow as well. But here in central Brooklyn it was a bust. An inch or two on the cars, almost nothing on the sidewalks. It's almost all gone already. We dodged a bullet (or maybe a snowball).
By the way, my neighbors always say hi—but they shovel only up to exactly their property line and not so much as an inch over.
As Ricky Gervais said: "Humanity? Not a fan."
Maybe your neighbor is a Burning Wood reader and saw the post. Nice to know they are some good people out there.
Slip that neighbor a Bettye Swan album at Christmas
See you at JLL!

I've almost ordered this about 10 times...
@Craig Dye
JLL?
I've been doing that 'do-do-do-do-do-do, de-da-de-da-de-da' ever since I saw this on SCTV decades ago, and misremembered it being their version of Perry Como singing the hits of the day.
Dog, I miss SCTV.
