Not So Typical Girls

"Cut" (1979) The Slits.

I fell in love with these girls and this album when it came out.

That their backdrop looks exactly like a corner of my backyard at the time was probably a contributing factor.
Produced by Reggae artist/producer Dennis Bovell, with drums by Budgie, later of Siouxsie and The Banshees, the music holds up rather well, and is one of only a handful of original punk albums that stays in my big playlist.
I purchased this fancy repress from Sal's Discogs page, which I check often.

One of my all time favorite punk records, and certainly a record that is more punk attitude than sound.

So good. Ahead of its time (or maybe outside of its time, on an alternate timeline altogether). The Slits documentary film is well worth watching!
