I don't feel very inspired at the moment. I am sure that will change. I'll get some music up tomorrow and your Songs Of The Week zip on Sunday. We always need music.
The following is something I posted on social media after being laughed at by two Trump voters because I said I was devastated by the outcome of Tuesday night, while also being told by another, someone I have known for almost 60 years, that "We all have opinions and we are allowed to voice them. It doesn't matter who wins." Apparently, these people don't understand something called social responsibility. They see no difference between "I don't like Blade Runner" and "Fuck the Mexicans."
For the record, I
am still not over John Starks' nightmare performance in Game 7 of the
1994 NBA finals against the Houston Rockets 30 years ago. And that’s just fucking
sports! Please, to those gloating and to the others who just don't seem to get it or actually care, get out my face with your “Get over its” and your “It
doesn’t matters.” It matters! Jeez, it fucking matters! Okay? So I'll keep out of your face while you sit back and wait for the money to start rolling in. You enjoy your
delusion of 30 cent tomatoes and 5 cent licorice sticks and wax lips. And you keep out of my face with your smug and insensitive comments.
It heartens me to see so many like-minded people here commenting on recent events. And by the way, for those of you who don't see your ignorant, racist comments published, hey, that fascism for ya. You voted for it.

Man, that Demi Moore comment, in any serious country, should be the talk of the day.
A difference of opinion is not voting for a ticket that intentionally lied and demonized a minority group, by claiming they were stealing and eating people's pets. That's supporting fascism.
Don't those jerk offs realize the shit storm's gonna come down as hard on them as it will on the rest of us? Unless of course they are already billionaires. Oh well, we survived Nixon, we'll survive this somehow.
Sal, it's good to know there are others still in a state of shock over The Knicks falling apart in the 7th game besides me. That one still hurts.
Everyone be well!
Captain Al
when you vote for a criminal, that is what you get. To have delusions this will turn out well for everyone is just that, delusional.
Sal, Has there been any word yet when I'm going to become a billionaire, when I will get my bevy of women, gas stations will be paying me to use their pumps, I can apply (and get) a corporate president position? Ah yes the good old days of Ward and June Cleaver and pie in the sky are back....finally
"You voted for it"... will be the polite version of "Fuck Your Feelings".
It's what I'll be saying when Project 2025 kicks in, when RFK Jr. stops fluoride, all vaccines, FDA regulations, and probably most prescription medicines, and Elon "Temporary Hardship" Musk gets rid of all those pesky safety & environmental regulations.
I doubt very much that they'll blame him when they're crying just as hard as the libs.
No, they don't know that. Fox News, right wing social media, and the Russian-financed podcasters they follow all told them that the lying loser rapist felon is a perfect human who is being persecuted for his supreme perfectness. I doubt that any of them know how bad Project 2025 will be for them, too.
Forget the Knicks, what about the 1964 Phillies??? We put their photos on our dartboard until Dad screamed that we were throwing the darts too hard, then we slashed them to ribbons with our penknives. I blame cartoons.
I blame our education system. And the dismal crap we call news media. Americans are too ignorant to see through the wool over their eyes. I hesitate to go all “the sky is falling” but I don’t see any real route to hopefulness.
Even if someone claims to favor Dump's 'policies', I can't get past willingly voting for a serial liar/rapist/crook/traitor TO REPRESENT ME, OR MY COUNTRY. That is the nightmare, for me -- people looked at that shithole person and liked what they saw, and are willing to set this whole country's history and ideals on fire. Unbelievable.

Had a long, polite conversation with a neighbor after we both finished early voting. He told me why he voted for (name redacted), and most every reason (well, probably every reason), was about not voting for woke, socialism, Trans surgeries for immigrant prisoners, etc. More fear of phantom leftists ruling the country than any tangible reason to support him or his policies.
The more we talked, and the more I explained the absolute bull shit he had been sold, he kept repeating "wow, maybe I should voted for Harris". By the end he was going home to try to get his wife and son to vote for her. I think that what a lot of us read and hear is vastly, vastly different from what others read and hear. Otherwise, I just can't reconcile that many millions of Americans embracing hate and greed above everything else.
I'm with you. it's heartbreaking. the right wing media in this country has convinced a lot of people that terrifying things that ARE NOT HAPPENING will ruin this country so that they can steal more for the 1%. that's it. it's heartbreaking
I want to hear from the 13 million Democrats why they decided to not vote. That seems to me is the mystery.
I'm not planning on being that polite. Among all the other devastation, a whole lot of my fellow senior citizens are going to have to move back in with their kids after Social Security and Medicare are wiped out by the pillagers of the GOP. Too bad those kids are about to be laid off by all the companies that can't afford those brilliant tariffs Benedict Orange is going to levy on Day One. The stupid, it hurts.
My wife and I were visiting your beautiful New York City from Cleveland this week to see David Gilmour and hopefully celebrate the election of the first woman president. We didn't sleep a wink Tuesday night we were so distraught. The next morning when we walked out of our hotel onto 59th street a tall lanky black man on bike yelled out "If you voted for Trump, f*ck you!!!" and I instantly felt better. But the thing that really gave me hope was when we were walking through Central Park we stopped and sat on a park bench to hear a street performer playing jazz trumpet where a lot of other people were doing the same. There was a little girl there with her father, she was probably 3-4 years old I'd guess, and she was picking up the fallen leaves around the area and giving them to every person she saw like they were a precious gift. She gave them to every single person there regardless of age, sex, race, disability, appearance, etc., with such joy to be sharing these beautiful leaves which in reality were just plain brown. It was a striking reminder that we start out with love, kindness, and generosity in our hearts and unfortunately through whatever circumstances some people lose sight of it. In this case it would seem quite a few. Keep your love light shining. We have to keep fighting for a better tomorrow any way we can.
Jared, thanks for this. I just sent your comment to an old friend of mine who is pretty distraught. Thank you.
Oh I'm glad Sal. Take care and stay strong.
