An Artist Is An Artist

I can't say I've listened to a lot of Skunk Anansie in the last 25 years, but I did enjoy their first few releases back in the 90's, or at least some of those records.

They have a new single and I love everything about it. It's an earworm for sure, kind of like X-Ray Spex meets The Cure meets INXS.

I dig the lyrics, too.

Clearly she feels very strongly that an artist is an artist! This was fun to listen to!

I don't think I ever actually listened to her back in the day, but I gotta say that new song hits me on a deeply personal level. 😎

(not that you have to answer, but what happened to yesterday's post? I listened to it yesterday morning and was going to back to it today, but it's gone. Was the topic of the song controversial or something?)

She removed dozens of posts from her IG account and now has a photo with the caption "Clean Slate."

Too bad. It had a hook that stayed with me 24 hours later and that doesn't happen that often these days...

I agree. Pretty powerful for just a voice and a uke.
