Garth Hudson, 1937-2025

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

See you in four years, or hopefully sooner.

Such a talent! Now they are all gone.

Someone told me they interviewed Garth for that "Once Were Brothers" doc. Maybe now we'll get the chance to see the footage.

There would be no The Band without Garth. RIP to a great musician, whose style is unmatched.

I always loved the story that Garth told his family that he was The Band's "music teacher" so they wouldn't worry that he was in a rock 'n' roll band.
Truth is, he was a music teacher in every sense. Will be missed by all students of great music.

One of the most unique musicians in rock & roll history.

R.I.P. Garth! Thank you for the music.

He had no equal in popular music. He gave such an added musical dimension to The Band's music. I am deeply saddened by his passing, the last great member to a truly five-member band. Not a good day.

Agree with everyone else. A great musician, and a big influence on one of the greatest bands.

Officially the end of an era, the likes of which I'll never see again. This one hurts more than I thought it would.

Oddly, my first thought was not for The Band, but The Call, which I believe MTV told me was the first time Garth Hudson played on a recording by a band other than The Band. (I could well be wrong.) But it made me buy The Call's album, which was pretty good. (They had some great singles.) And appreciate again how great The Band was. Maybe for the same reason George Martin producing music by America did. They had some good singles, but no one is the Beatles and no one is The Band.
