Song For My Father- Horace Silver Quintet
(Rikki, don't steal my intro.)

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do- Cookie & His Cupcakes

(One of my fave swamp pop tracks from Lake Charles, Louisiana.)

Positively Lost Me- The  Rave-Ups

(This one still rocks 40 years later.)

Hammersmith Palais- Demolition 23
(Little Steven meets Michael Monroe for one of the best glam/punk/rock and roll albums of the last 30 years. Definitely Monroe's finest hour.)

Rumblin' Train- Badlands

(Hard rock? Metal? Blues? Badlands made two very fine records, whatever you want to call them. This track kicks ass.)

Ghetto Funk- Boris Gardiner

(A Jamaican legend gets funky.)

Hard Times- More Relation
(I hadn't heard of this record before last week, when my friend Chris, who I spent a few days with in Kingston Jamaica, posted about how it finally got reissued. This album is a new favorite. It checks all my of reggae boxes except for one. The band is not from Jamaica. They are from Brooklyn! I love this one. It's the album closer and it is as sweet as hell.)

Horace and Boris are both wonderful, as are The Rave-Ups. More Relation was good, will have to give the album a spin.

For those who are wondering, the More Relation album is titled Freedom (2019).

Oh and "Rikki, don't steal my intro" made me laugh

Nowhere on the More Relation record, not the cover, spine or label, does it say the album is called "Freedom."
