It's Not My Place (In The 9 To 5 World)- The Ramones
Winter Rose- Billy Nicholls
I Wish It Could Be Peaceful- Ken Boothe
Ain't That A Bitch- Johnny Guitar Watson
A Song For George Lewis- Dr. Michael White
In Between Tears- Irma Thomas
Yazoo Street Scandal- Bob Dylan & The Band
It's Not My Place (In The 9 To 5 World)- The Ramones
(Graham Gouldman producing The Ramones wasn't a bad thing. I liked "Pleasant Dreams" and I loved this track.)
Winter Rose- Billy Nicholls
(Billy Nicholls legendary "lost" Immediate album "Would You Believe?" is finally getting its first, official reissue this year. What was supposed to be England's answer to "Pet Sounds" was instead shelved, with only 100 or so copies making it out to the market. This track is NOT from that album, though I highly recommend listening to "Would You Believe" if you don't know it. This song is from Billy's 1974 release "Love Songs," which also recently got reissued.)
I Wish It Could Be Peaceful- Ken Boothe
(From "Freedom Street," a record I did not put on my reggae Top 40, though after a few recent spins, I'm thinking I should. No law says there can't be a Reggae Top 41.)
Ain't That A Bitch- Johnny Guitar Watson
(I've said it before and I'll say it again, I can't get enough of JGW's two records on the DJM label.)
A Song For George Lewis- Dr. Michael White
(Still very much in Jazz Fest mode, even though Queens N.Y. is a terrible substitute for New Orleans. Music like this, though, really helps.)
In Between Tears- Irma Thomas
(This track is from the Swamp Dogg sessions, a record I don't play enough. Irma is in excellent form.)
Yazoo Street Scandal- Bob Dylan & The Band
(Robbie Robertson imagines what goes on a street called Yazoo in Arkansas. This track rocks in its own way.)

I never think of the Swamp Dogg sessions as very good Irma. This a a good track though. The Muscle Shoals stuff seemed weak to me too. Rough period for Ms. Thomas.
I think I got that wrong. It wasn’t the Muscle Shoals stuff, it was the Full Time Woman issue I thought was weak.
Yeah, Full Time Woman misses the mark. Not terrible, but as you said, weak. I like the Muscle Shoals stuff, but I think the Swamp Dogg stuff is better. It was certainly better than I remembered it.
all new songs to me except the last one. like the ramones song it's like a lost british invasion single from the 60's better than their usual frantic buzz saw approach. jazz song also very nice melody and rhythm section. rs
Guess I’ll have to listen to In Between Tears again
I had no idea about that Ramones/Graham Gouldman album. If the rest of it is as good as the song....
