Never a big fan, he was a great character, and lived the rock and roll lifestyle in spades. Sorry to see him go, and prayers for his family. He had a darn good ride, and made a lot of people very happy.
It’s sad when anyone dies but Ozzy was an asshole and his music was not all that great. I saw Black Sabbath in 1971: not very good. I left after 5 songs. Ozzy was a clown on stage.
I've had enough of you. You're an old, smug, unfunny asshole. You condescend constantly. I've tolerated your comments because you are a friend of a friend. But you are the asshole. Not Ozzy. No more.
I feel Ozzy does not make very interesting Rock and Roll. He looks and acts like a clown on stage. It’s not what I and I suspect some others would consider Rock and Roll. Heavy Metal is extremely popular to this day but has nothing to do with real quality roots R&R. Do you put Ozzy up there with the New Orleans R&B we both love? Or 60’s R&R from both sides of the Atlantic? Or the best of 70’s punk/New Wave? Rockabilly or Stax soul? I don’t and I’d be surprised if you do. I meant it when I said it’s sad he died but in my opinion he, Black Sabbath and all the metal bands did R&R no favors by muddying the waters.
Yes I was overly provocative in my comments but when Metal gets a spotlight shined on it it can really piss me off.
Is there anyone out there who agrees with me? Join in, just don’t be as obnoxious as I originally was.
Rest In Peace Ozzy but I will not miss the music you created.

Well surprise! I do. But your comments only exemplify my complaints. It's apples and oranges. This isn't about what you think. It's about your smug way of making your point. Is Ozzy any more of a clown than Mac Rebbenack wearing Indian garb and hoo-nah-naying for Sonny & Cher's producer? I don't care if you like Ozzy, or metal or Todd Rundgren. I'm just tired of you, and your inability to talk about music that doesn't immediately appeal to you without your glib commentary.
But really, what this is about it etiquette. A proper way to be part of a community. Disagree all day long. I don’t care. Just don’t be a dick. No one likes smug.

Like Bowie, he knew how to leave the stage.

His timing was impeccable. Glad he got the send off he deserved.

So true
Seriously that's the way to go. A final big celebration with your friends with you enjoying it all and then boom, you're done.
