Terry Reid, 1949-2025

As we sit wishing and hoping for (what is looking more and more like an unlikely) recovery for the great Dave Edmunds, we can distract ourselves with the loss of the great Terry Reid.

Man, they are dropping like flies.

You all know the story by now. Terry Reid turned down offers from both Jimmy Page and Ritchie Blackmore to be the lead singer of their respective bands. Instead, Reid released two essential records for Epic that quietly influenced many of your favorite rockers.

He continued to make records, including "River" and "Seed Of Memory," which became cult classics.

If you don't know his music, it will behoove you to check out both "Bang Bang" and "Terry Reid."

R.I.P., Terry

I just saw a GoFundMe page for Terry. Sad to see it's too late to donate. Onto better news, Carlene Carter posted that Dave Edmunds is expected to make a full recovery and be released from the hospital soon. ( Supposedly, Carlene is tight with Dave and his wife )

Sorry to hear this.

Probably first heard of Terry via Cheap Trick's cover of "Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace." Had to research him the old-fashioned way.

Carlene's "Musical Shapes" (with an Edmunds duet) should be in everyone's collection.
