Well, I've dodged the COVID bullet for five years, and I have no doubt it's because of Science and Medicine. BUT, just my luck, they pull the restrictions off the new booster so everyone is eligible, and before I could get the jab, I get sick.

Missed it by that much.

Posting will be sporadic this week. Wish me luck. To quote Withnail, "I feel like a pig shat in my head."

the Paxlovid works but kills your appetite, but if you can't take it there's always Sue Bee chicken dumpling soup and a long nap.

Feel better my friend. This is a wake-up call for a 74 year old not to put off this shot. I'm on it.

Feel better! I have had it twice (post-vaccines) and it was mild because of that. I sure was panicky the first time I got it, though! (And I just got my booster and flu shots yesterday...)

Man, I hope you just get a mild case. Both times I've gotten it (and I'm vaccinated) it's been a MF

Take good care of yourself and don't worry about posting. We'll all be here when you feel up to it. (My vax appt is on Monday. Fingers crossed until then.)

I'm adding you to the list of everyone I know, myself included, who got hit with this bug that's making the rounds. It appears to be a short illness. I hope I can add you that that list too.

Make Burning Wood Healthy Again!

Hope the pig shit vaporizes, Sal. Obviously, symptoms vary. I've never had COVID-19 either, knock on wood. But I never have had a vaccine for it either. It's not that I'm "anti-vax," rather, I just don't give a shit. I'm very healthy and I think I can weather a mild flu-like cold. My daughter, who also chose not to take the jab, has had C-19 four times already. Two of those times she had no symptoms other than testing positive. The other two times were light symptoms. The first time she got it was when she flew from California to Myrtle Beach with her boyfriend. When they arrived at their hotel they got a bit of a scratchy throat, muscle aches and a very slight fever. But the main thing was the feeling of being burnt the fuck out. Their answer, and I'm not endorsing this, was to buy a 40-count of bottled water, two handles of Amsterdam, an 8-ball of blow and have lots of sex.

With exceptions, COVID's not a big deal anymore, unless you already have one foot in the grave. I'm glad. I got tired of the hysteria and panic. And the paranoid squirrels buying hand sanitizer by the gallon, wearing multiple masks and shields, and freaking out if you got within six feet of them.

Sal, not sure if it was up yesterday already, but I really think the song of the day is dyno. I haven't heard it for years - About fifty years. Back then one of my boyfriends hauled alfalfa hay from Imperial Valley to Chino where all dairy farms were. One of the farmers we dealt with was a guy who immigrated from the Netherlands after WWII. He had eight kids and a couple hundred cows. He loved the fuck out of America. Especially its music. He had a lot of rootsy stuff in his collection. Bob Wills, Hank Williams, Bill Monroe, Johnny Cash, Elvis, Roy Orbison, Jimmy Reed, Slim Harpo, Chuck Berry etc. You get the idea. His name was Johannes but when he moved to America he called himself Joe. His wife was always nagging him about his record buying ways. He just tuned her out. Though his collection was mostly LP's, he had a few very rare 45's which he bought from a vendor at the "Okie Sale." Joe didn't know or care about their rarity, he was in it for the music. American nusic. On one of our visits he played Rocket's take on Jimmy Reed's "I Know It's a Sin." His vocal made a big impression on me. On a subsequent visit I requested he play it again, That was the last time I heard it - until today. So thanks loads, Sal. And I really mean it. Get well soon,
