Goose-Step Mama- The Rutles
(I had been listening to Van Halen last week and the opening riff of "Man On A Mission" sounded vaguely familiar. It took a day or two, but it ended up being the intro to this Rutles classic.)

If You See Jane- The Yardbrooms

(This week's reggae discovery comes from The Yardbrooms- my new favorite band name, by the way. I found this on the excellent "Soul Power '68" collection, which is worth your time.)

Break In The Road- Betty Harris
(It doesn't get any funkier than this. Here is Miss Harris backed by The Meters, but instead of Zig Modeliste on the drums, we have the legendary James Black creating that back beat.)

She Loves The Jerk- John Hiatt
(One of my favorite Hiatt lyrics. A pop gem, that goes right for the heart.)

Please- Kaleidoscope
(If you like this track and are unfamiliar with the legendary psych-folk sounds of Kaleidoscope, might I suggest listening to "Side Trips" for your to-do list.)

Name And Address- Wings

(A simple but effective little rocker from a very underrated McCartney record.)

See You In Your Dreams- Kiss

(You're either in or you're out, I guess. Though, I bet if this was on "Some Girls" or "Tattoo You," people would be singing a different tune. But what do I know?)

Nice mix. I wasn't aware that John Hiatt did this kind of material. For me he was always a grittier Americana type of artist. This song is firmly in Nick Lowe territory imo.

Nick Lowe has covered it live. Elvis Costello recorded it during the "Goodbye Cruel World" sessions. That demo could be found on the bonus disc. But year, you're absolutely right. Very Nick.

Though She Loves The Jerk is on the A side of Riding With The King produced by the Durocs, the B side was produced by Nick Lowe and he played bass on those 6 tracks. Superb album.

Both the Yardbrooms and Betty Harris were wonderful.
