I am looking forward to January 2nd the way young children and those rare adults with clear heads look forward to Christmas Day. 2025 somewhat impossibly was even worse than 2024, at least in my world, and while I do my best to give the holiday season the old college try, I usually crap out long before the finish line. January 2nd is my favorite holiday. It's a clean slate, a fresh Etch-A-Sketch.
This week's mass shootings, the murder of a beloved Hollywood star and his wife, and the boneheaded, callous and quite frankly disgusting response by our fearless liar in chief hasn't helped matters. I'm angry and sad, and this morning, I woke up with a helpless feeling somewhat akin to "Why bother?" In the wake of all this horrible news, I can't bring myself to post the isolated bass from "My Generation" hoping I get a dozen "Woo Hoos!"
But, the show must go on, right?
Right, except, my head and hands feel too heavy. It's a struggle to type and even more of a struggle to think. So, as we make it through the next two weeks, please accept what I imagine will be strange and sporadic posting from yours truly. I will try to keep all of us entertained and distracted.
Later Gators.

Sal you are not alone. Everyday I look at the news and ask what has he done today? Keep posting music as you see fit.
As Butterboy says "Music weaves itself into the fabric of our emotions, dances through the corridors of memory, and whispers to the soul of who we are."
I can't say it any better than LemonFlag (and Butterboy). The big picture is gloomy, and dealing with aging, and sometimes stubborn elderly parents & relatives just adds to the daily mental challenge. Thankfully, I "work" from home and have music playing all day. That BB quote is one I will hold on to for a long time. Be well, BW, and know that you're far from alone in this struggle.
Hang in there, my friend. Or, as I forget who used to say, "don't let the bastards get you down."
It's hard for anyone to remain unaffected by horrendous events, global or otherwise, but take comfort in the support of your blog's community of readers and listeners who feel the same and are with you all the way. Cheers!
Has been a horrible end of the year so far...so, taking a break to try and make sense of the senseless is understandable, even necessary.
So, thanks for your contribution this year to bring a little joy in discovering some things new, and some memories awakened.
How have I missed this McCartney song all these years? It's wonderful!
As to 2026 I'm not expecting any improvement. I'm just hoping we don't slip any further back into the gloom.
