One Monkee Won't Stop The Show

Mickey Dolenz, the last surviving Monkee, will release "Timeless" in September. This is a six track E.P. featuring songs written by Andy Partridge, the late Adam Schlesinger, Shelby Lynne, Vicki Peterson and the continued AWOL Paul Westerberg, whose "Terri," the lead track from his somewhat lost and legendary "49:00" album, a record which saw the light of digital day for a mere two days before being hit with licensing issues and deleted, is Mickey's lead single off "Timeless."

Dolenz's tribute records to Michael Nesmith and R.E.M. were both excellent, so I have hope for this one. Though I wonder just how bad the industry has to be to keep two of our greatest songwriters, Andy Partridge and Paul Westerberg, from releasing anything new at all under their own names.

Micky Dolenz is really enjoying a second wind as an interpreter of great songs. I didn't see that coming, but it's been fun.

I've always thought that PW preferred being a recluse especially after the tour with Tommy about 10 years ago (which I wish I went to)

I've been impressed with how not embarrassing at all Micky Dolenz's recent work has been. And he can still sing. Go Micky!

Both of those previous Dolenz EPs were fabulous.

That's quite a lineup of writers. A must especially with Andy Partridge.

Oh wow! Thanks for sharing. This looks like something I might never have heard of if not for this burning entry. Love music I can sing along with and tap my toes to like in the old days. And from such a surprise artists. Really, really looking forward to the Partridge and Schlesinger songs (cream of the crop!).
