If It's Tuesday, It Must Be Street Date - 8/04/09

This is seriously one weak-ass Tuesday. Unless, a new release from Norwegian, two-hit wonders A-Ha is enough to get out the party hats, the summertime doldrums continue.

Briefly, new records from the following hit the...stores (?) today:
BILL CHAMPLIN
CATIE CURTIS
SEASICK STEVE
TANTRIC

(Line forms to the right)

But, never fear Burning Woodsters, I've got just what you need.

Enjoy please, a short stack of Naomi Neville's, (aka Allen Toussaint) "Lipstick Traces," one of the greatest songs EVAH.

There are some rare versions here, including a version by The O'Jays that I had no idea I owned, until the great iPod shuffle surprised and inspired once again... so dig in.

TRACK LIST

LIPSTICK TRACES x 5

BENNY SPELLMAN
JAMES BOOKER
THE O'JAYS
SNOOKS EAGLIN
ALLEN TOUSSAINT

Sorry to be commenting on the dead thread but

Instead, I was surrounded by a bunch of guys with bored girlfriends and wives, playing air Fender Rhodes to "Babylon Sisters." I

You know -- I really like Steely Dan, always have. But the above is my idea of hell.

Sal, you have a great writing style, what college did you go to?

Anon -- that was actually funny!

Sal, why is the guy from A-Ha taunting me with his ass? He don't need to ask twice, even if he does look like Legolas.
