Oh, man, how I loved Soupy. My parents didn't really like us watching TV then, so we'd have to kind of sneak it in, which made him even more fun. That was his schtick anyway. It was between him and us, and our parents weren't a part of it.

A few years ago when he got sick People magazine did a feature about him and they called and asked me for a few comments which they published. When does anyone really get the chance to say thank you to someone who brought so much laughter into your life.

I admit I hadn't thought about Soupy in years but seeing his obit this morning made me think about my childhood camped out on the carpet in front of the walnut Zenith console laughing at that crazy grownup.
Buy me a few drinks and I might still be able to do "The Mouse"...

Can anyone remember the products Soupy pitched? Turkish Taffy? Bosco? Or am remembering someone else?

Ahh, Soupy Sales. One of my faves as a kid, watched him all the time. I was listening to Pachalafaka just recently.

Well I'm gonna dig out some DVDs of his show and watch the old gang again, timeless.

BLAA-OH BLAA-OH BLAA-OH!!
