Ch-ch-ch-ch-CHANGES

Starting this week, there will be some changes made on the pages of Burning Wood.

*Todd Rundgren Mondays will now only happen once, or if I am inspired, twice a month.

I don't want to run out of material, and quite frankly, interest seems to have waned.

*New Release Tuesdays will list more releases, but have less commentary.

I realize that this feature is very helpful to those who still buy CDs occasionally, but it has become increasingly more difficult to get copies to listen to and review, and to be honest, there is just too much I'd rather not listen to.

I will feature 1-3 releases that have struck a chord, good or bad, and then list everything else with links for purchase.

*Outside Contributors

When I first started Burning Wood, I had a vision that others would contribute. I still hope for that to happen. Concert reviews, record reviews, suggestions...if you would like to submit something, please do so. Just keep the abuse to a minimum.

See you Monday

Being a " guilty " Catholic, I hope " by abuse " you were not talking about me...

Ok Sal,
1/2 thru 2010, would you list your 5 or 10 favorite CD's ?

Thanks for the Todd posts Sal. Interest never waned on this end.
You learned well from Alterman and his running Springsteen fixation. :)

it's a good idea to change things up a little, especially if you've been doing something as arduous at burning wood five times a week for years... i will of course miss regular todd mondays, but hope you will not move it off the rotation completely—for obvious reasons...

as to contributing, well, i'll definitely try to do a little of that. what a fun idea!

and thanks for the ministry recommendations, too.

have a great sunday, sal.

Sorry I wasn't commenting on the Todd lately, I've been grabbing and digging (almost) all of it, so thankyew once again.

I would miss reviews like this: John McCauley, the voice behind Deer Tick, has a raspy drawl that almost works, on this not bad collection of Americana...I guess. I mean...not really.

From this short passage, I know everything I need to know about this record. I'm completely serious. Beats anything I ever read in Rolling Stone.

Americana has about a 90% suck rate, but the fact that they're using basic instrumentation, not over-producing, and attempting to write real songs leads you to give 'em the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks you guys. The blogosphere is a lonely world, so it's nice to see some interest.

Meanstreets...you'll have to wait. But I can assure you, as much as I love it, Patty Griffin is not in the Top Ten.

And Noam...that's a huge compliment.
