The Great Lost XTC Album

I wore out the aluminum on this CD when it first came out in 1993. Martin Newell is credited with writing both words and music, while Andy Partridge handled production, engineering and DRUMS!

Nothing Newell had released prior, either solo or with the Cleaners From Venus, or since, quite measures up to the pop perfection of "The Greatest Living Englishman."

Thanks, Andy!

Great reminder to import this to my iTunes library. It also include the greatest song for driving through a snowstorm in PA during the Christmas Season - 'Christmas in Suburbia'

Shausler,

I in turn agree with you. I happened to be listening to 'Before the Hurricane' as I was checking the Wood and saw your post. A truly remarkable song.
