Adam Yauch, R.I.P

Once a year,  I find myself raving over the brilliance of The Beastie Boys' "Paul's Boutique," to mostly deaf ears. To all you detractors, if there was ever a day to give it one more try, it's today. Play it LOUD for Adam Yauch.

Gone too soon.

God damn, this is sad news. And it just hit me, he and Levon both died of throat cancer.

Such a shame.

And yes, Paul's Boutique is a stone cold classic.

I'm playing it and I'm playing it LOUD!

One of those records that just keep getting better -- and more important -- over time.

Sad news ... thanks for the reminder Sal.

Definitely sad news. I bought "Cookie Puss" when it came out, but was never really a fan, although I was glad they existed. According to wiki, Miles Davis never got tired of listening to "Paul's Boutique". I'm hearing it for the first time, and it holds up. It's something I almost bought many times. In fact I might have it, bought used from Sal, but never played.

Insanely creative and intoxicatingly fun. Play it LOUD indeed!
Was going to do margaritias today. Seriously considering Olde English '800' 40s instead.

I hadn't heard the news. Count me in as huge "Paul's Boutique" fan. Brilliant. Thanks for the memories Adam.
