"The Who Fantasy" : THE WEEKEND MIX

While I realize this is all kinds of improbable, allow me to wind down my record-breaking stretch of Who obsession with my fantasy set list.

I will be attending the "Quadrophenia & More" extravaganza at Madison Square Garden next month. Expectations are low, but that's probably a good thing. I heard bits and pieces of Daltrey's solo tour a few years back where he performed all of "Tommy" and his voice made me long for Oliver Reed. Apparently, he's gotten better and stronger, though the clips I've seen from this tour sound like the band has tuned way down to suit Rog's needs.

Still...in many ways, I am very excited, even if the following will only be playing in my head.

That's so you, Sal. Made me belly laugh.

The amazing thing about The Who is that they've really played basically the same set list since 1970. I don't know if it's confidence or just being comfortable, but they just don't dig deep into their vault. Even the Stones will play rarities at club shows. With all that said, I am seeing them in Nashville, and I'm looking forward to it. Some additional songs I would add to your list:
Goin' Mobile
A Quick One While He's Away
Pictures of Lily

Glad to see that fantasy Townsend gives respect to WHO SELL OUT even if actual Townsend does not. Great set list. I'd like to see them do "Heaven and Hell" in honor of The Ox.

Have the 'Oo ever played "Blue & Gray" live before? I was surprised how many songs on the new Zep set "Celebration Day" have never been played live (by ZEP, that is) - including "Good Times Bad Times" and even "Ramble On" for cryin' out loud!
