Friend and occasional contributor John Dunbar had "Our Postmortem," the debut release from And The Professors on his Burning Wood Top Ten of 2013. I finally made it to that section of my in-box and gave this baby a spin.
Please do the same and if you have any love, go over to Bandcamp and support these guys.
This record is simply gorgeous. Chamber pop with elements of Eels, Wilco and in many ways, XTC minus the British eccentricities. Odd though that I hear very little of the bands they themselves say they sound like.
Who cares really? I love this record.

This will sound crazy, but "Post Mortem" reminds me most of "AOXOMOXOA".
Nice stuff, refreshing and different. Can't really pinpoint the influences either, but they're inventive. My two faves are Our Postmortem and Watching. Which faintly reminds me of Sail On Sail On by NRBQ. Good find Sal!
It's no Aloe Blacc but it's good stuff
Nice. Very tight, musically. Gotta good beat, and you can dan...aww, nawwww......
...and TOTCRBs has Sgt.Pepper all over it.
This is good.
really great, which makes complete sense it being Adam Levy. The Honeydogs` "What Comes After" is a wonderful record. If you have`n`t heard it , check it out. Highly recommended.
