Nothing/Something

I just received a blog donation with a note attached:

"Despite frequent appearances of Todd Rundgren, I really enjoy the blog and here's a drop in the ocean to keep it afloat."

Thank you donor.

Hmmm...that gives me an idea.

Heh.

Holy Crap! Where ya gonna see that now, huh kids?
Did you check out Moogy on the B-3? and still there are 2 more keyboard players (ok, one is a synth) and Todd in his glammy-ness, killin' it on vox and guitar.
I miss The Midnight Special! What a trip. Thank you for the quickie, Sal.

Can't help yourself, can you?

No, you see, it's a joke. Gentleman offers money despite Rundgren's presence. Others not liking Rundgren. Too much Rundgren. Post more Rundgren, people pay me to stop.

It's a joke. Knight on a dog, Alice!

You know I hold only one artist above TR, so what I say is not a knock.

The Midnight Special was great because like a Fillmore East show, the lineup would be all over the place. (Woody Herman and his Thundering Herd, Delaney & Bonnie and Led Zeppelin. Now that was a night...)
However, it also was broadcast all over the heartland as well as both coasts.

Todd, to this date, carries the chip that he should have been more than a critic's favorite. The only way he could be was to do "We Got to Get You a Woman," Why Can't We Be Friends?) or "Bang the Drum." He had too much curiosity and talent to settle.

Still, he might have done it with his music. The heartland might forgive the multi-streaked hair of Something/Anything phase. when the Utopia costumes appeared and Todd deliberately raised his music level to look down on that audience was when his fate was set.

I really did enjoy the video. Admittedly I didn't have the speakers on but I didn't allow that to detract from my enjoyment! And I was pretty sure you could take a joke about TR, plus it's been a long time since I've been called a gentleman, so thanks for that.....
