It's All About That Bass

"Heartaches," the huge 1961 hit for The Marcels, popped up on shuffle, and after years and years of hearing this song, it took the most recent play to truly appreciate just how hard baritone Richard Knauss is working in that right channel. It's both brilliant and hilarious.

That's all I've got, but it's a pretty damn good 153 seconds for a Thursday.

What's not to love about Doo Wop?

I've been a fan of that bassman since 1961, when I heard Teeter Totter Love (I remember it as being the B-side of Blue Moon but it wasn't, apparently).

Give it a listen:

It's just about my favourite (yes I'm English) doo-wop track.
