2018

•I'd like some money. Well, not just "some" money, but a lot of money!

•I'd like to lose 15 pounds, but I don't want to change my diet. Or, for that matter, exercise.

•I'd like to see the phrase "thoughts and prayers" stricken from the English language and replaced with, "Holy Crap! I'd better actually do something about that shit!"

•I'd like to see a half dozen more versions of "Mississippi" released from the Bob Dylan vault.

•Have I mentioned money?

•I'd like truth, liberty and justice for all. And I'd like a good portion of America to look up the meaning of "all."

•And for godsake, look up from your phone while you're walking the streets. I've taken more charges than Charles Oakley.

•Money

•Music. Always more music.

Tomorrow is the first, and for many, the last day we try. How about we try a little harder so we don't have to write off 2018 until at least February?

Happy and Healthy To All.

Too lazy to make any resolutions myself, so do you mind if I "borrow" your pretty much perfect list?
Thanks for a great year by the fireside*, Sal and all the best for 2018.
* Always meant to ask ... "Burning Wood"? what's that about?

Tinpot,

When I was a wee lad, I apparently had a verbal tick which began each sentence I was about to utter with, "I was thinking..." And one family member replied, "I thought I smelled wood burning." It caught on, much to my chagrin.

So Burning Wood began as a blog to write about whatever I was thinking.

Happy New Tear

Thank you for another year of insightful, intelligent, humor-filled contributions from you and your readers. Hands down, the best music site on the web. Happy New Year, Sal! And to all who visit here.

Since discovering the blog by accident a couple of years ago I keep coming back (on purpose) as to me it's a great marriage of music, opinions, comments & stories. And just like a marriage, some days it makes me happy, sometimes critical, sometimes sad - plus there's no sex! Looking forward to more excellent stuff from the blog & I wish you all good things. Cheers!

Amen, Mr. N. Especially as regards "thoughts and prayers."
Meanwhile, good luck winning the Powerball...
