For years I've asserted that Ted Cruz was invented in a lab where some mad scientist crossed Jeremy Hillary Boob (brains, face & body) with a hagfish (slimy, creepy, opportunistic). Once blobfish became known, it became clear that Cruz' looks and personality both came from deep sea fish better left in the cold dark depths, and the fictional Boob could return to being an ultimately harmless cartoon character.
