Vinyl PSA: Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak from VMP

The Vinyl Me, Please record club has just issued an absolutely brilliant repress of Thin Lizzy's 1976 game-changer, "Jailbreak." I am not here to review the album. 46 years later, you should know if you love this record or not. I am here to gush over this brand new package.

First, it is a brand new cut by the master Kevin Gray. I have mentioned Kevin's work dozens of times before, and he does not disappoint on this release. This is by far, the best sounding version of this record I have heard. Clean and wide, with Phil Lynott's bass sounding like a separate instrument, as opposed to a boomy addition to the rhythm section. This alone makes the new package worth buying.

But wait, there's more.

The unipak gatefold was recreated as a gorgeous foil gatefold and now includes lyrics and an original black and white print of Jim  Fitzpatrick's inconic cover.

If that's not enough, some genius added a sticker for Dino's Bar & Grill! That's one clever lagniappe.

Steven Hyden's new liner notes are quite impressive and stir up even more excitement. And, it's on colored vinyl, if that's your thing.

I get nothing from VMP for gushing over this record. I am sharing the news because I think this is one special release, and I know some of you enjoy your vinyl as much as I do.

You need to be a member of Vinyl Me, Please to purchase it. But so far, every one of their 100 plus releases have turned up on the secondary market, sometimes for less money and sometimes for more.

If you love this record, you need this version.

46 years ago? Seems like yesterday, doesn't it. Played that album till my speakers imploded (not really). Enjoy the blast. Cheers!

I had to look up "lagniappe"!

A bit off topic, but I've never really dug into Thin Lizzy. I know the radio hits, and some other stuff, but never took a deep dive into their music.
A couple of weeks ago, a TL song called "She Knows" came around in a compilation I threw together.
It knocked me out. Especially the guitar work.
I made it a mission to get into their stuff more.
