Hypnotized- Fleetwood Mac
This got plenty of FM radio air time back in the day and I never got sick of that opening drum pattern. Hypnotized, indeed.

Someone's Gonna Break Your Heart- A Girl Called Eddy
This one uses every pop trick in the book and for that, I am grateful. What a record!

She's Fine- Lonesome Sundown
I was revisiting some of those great Jay Miller Session albums I wrote about way back when, and Mr. Sundown's collection of swamp blues stood out as a particularly good one.

Forever J- Terry Hall
Forever Terry!

Best Love- Steve Martin & The Steep Canyon Rangers w/Paul McCartney
Steve Martin tells a story in his new book about a bluegrass song he wrote and wanted Paul McCartney to sing. He called Sir Paul and asked, and Paul suggested he sing it himself. When Steve said he had a terrible singing voice, Paul asked for a demo to listen to. Paul called Steve and said, "I thought you were being humble about your singing voice. Okay, I'll do it." Here it is.

Baiao Medley- Luciana Souza
From 1998-2003, I was listening to a lot of Luciana Souza. The records she released during that stretch were all wonderful and this track from the "Brazilian Duos" record was a fave.

How Long Must I Wait For You- Joe Jackson
This one swings like crazy and it has a killer drum solo too.

Oh that was a good Saturday roundup -- the museum, the realtor, but my favorite is the tortoise and the hares playing Scrabble. I am SO the tortoise in Scrabble. My brother was so annoyed at how insanely long I took he decided to teach me a lesson. I played some tiles (after like four minutes of deliberation I probably played "cat") and it was his turn. He just stared at the board, pretending to think and think and think about what to play. I was going to learn how annoying that it when after three or four minutes I would complain. Of course, I sat there staring at the board and my tiles, considering over and over what I would play next, convinced there was something better I could figure out. He waited and waited and waited for me to notice he hadn't played but I was happily absorbed and finally HE exploded in anger that I was so clueless he hadn't played in ten minutes and didn't even care. So I won twice!

I haven't listened to "Someone's Gonna Break Your Heart" in quite some time. Great way to start the day.

I really enjoyed the A Girl Called Eddy track - thank you! Before listening I wondered if it was a cover of this: https://youtu.be/FbxL8j8dqGA

I know you're not as big a fan of Sky Full of Holes compared to other FoW albums, and while I agree there are still 4 or 5 tracks on it that are amongst my favorites of their catalog. Especially "A Dip in the Ocean."

Thanks for everything, and Merry Christmas!

Forever J. They don’t write them like that anymore.

Thanks for the musical sandwich, with Fleetwood Mac and Joe Jackson holding it all neatly together. Compliments of the Season to you and yours. Cheers!
