Out Of The Blue- Roxy Music
As I was reminiscing and writing about some of the earliest bands I had played in, I was reminded of the band that covered this Roxy track. We did this and tacked on Rick James' "Give It To Me, Baby" at the end, a bold move for a trio of teenagers. It wasn't as bad as it sounds, but I will still spare you the mash-up so you can enjoy this classic.
The Woman's In Love- G-Force
This was a strange record. Released in 1980, G-Force was a Gary Moore project that featured Mark Nauseef on drums, who like Moore, was also in and out of Thin Lizzy, as well as Joachim Kuhn, the jazz keyboardist who had played with Ornette Coleman and Anthony Braxton, among many. The record is mostly a hard rock affair, with a sprinkling of prog. But not this track! This track is pure pop and is a stand out.
You Got To Pts. 1 & 2- Huey "Piano" Smith & The Clowns
This one is so funky, you might need a spotter while listening. Be careful.
Bring Me Your Loves- St. Vincent
I go on St. Vincent binges occasionally. These records keep on giving and I can't thank BuzzBabyJesus enough for his initial mix that has made me an Annie Clark fan for life. This week, I am obsessed with this track.
Soldering- Hall & Oates
H&O cover a reggae staple by The Starlites and All Music says it "falls flat." Personally, I think it's better than the original.
Rain At The Drive-In- NRBQ
Because it will make you feel good.
Laughing- David Crosby
After Crosby's death, I mentioned, as many did, that "Lady Friend" was his best song. This beauty is a close second.

So glad you reminded me of the G-Force cut. It is an outstanding track. I bought the based on a single listen of “The Woman’s in Love”. Don’t recall any of the other tracks but that’s ok. That one song was worth it.
Been a casual NRBQ fan for years but recently took a really deep dive into their catalog and put about a hundred songs in a playlist that I've been listening to for a couple of weeks now. Diggin' the hell out of it!
Rain At The Drive-In is in there, and it makes me feel real good.
