Under The Rainbow- The End
The End were a British psych band, produced by Bill Wyman for one record in 1969 and it's a good one. I don't recall what brought me to it last week, but it starts things off now.

I Feel Much Better- Small Faces
This was a leftover from a week or two ago. The Marvelettes tune I had posted reminded me of it.

Cage The Songbird- Elton John
From what I think is Elton's last great record, "Blue Moves," before returning with a bang in 2004 with "Peachtree Road." Both "Blue Moves" and "Peachtree Road" are worth revisiting, if neither is ringing a bell for you.

Still I Long For Your Kiss- Lucinda Williams
Been on a Lu binge lately.

It Only Takes A Minute- Tavares
Had an isolation chat with an old friend and we were discussing great 70's radio, a time when both Humble Pie and Tavares would share the airwaves.

Peace- Horace Silver
This Horace Silver album--"Blowin' The Blues Away"--- was playing the day I heard about Adam S. & Ellis M. It seemed an appropriate inclusion.

Telling Me Lies- Emmylou, Dolly, & Linda
The harmonies by the "trio" on this Linda Thompson tune are in a word, stunning.

On the Elton John note, yes, Blue Moves (https://kleaveburg.blogspot.com/2019/09/elton-john-blue-moves-1976.html) was the last good one for a very long time. But Peachtree Road (2004), which is excellent, was proceeded by Songs From The West Coast in 2001, which is right there and maybe even slightly better than Peachtree Road. The Captain and the Kid from 2006 (the sequel to Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy) completed Elton's early 2000s trifecta. Great blog, I enjoy it regularly.

I'll take just about anything that has Ronnie Lane's name attached to it. Such a great songwriter. Thank you, Sal. Please stay safe and strong.

Thanks for the post. Like the mention of Tavares and Humble Pie on the radio - or wireless as an even older friend and I were calling it this morning - those were the days. Been listening to a fair bit of Linda Thompson of late so the final tune is welcome & that other Linda (Ronstadt) who's singing in the Trio does a pretty good job too. Cheers!
